The outdoors is a classroom where Scouts can:
- Use the skills they are mastering.
- Solve problems as a team.
- Look out for one another.
- Learn self-discipline
- Respect others and the environment.
- Encounter situations that require them to become leaders.
- Enjoy the beauty in nature.
- Learn the value of leaving no trace in the wilderness.
Troop 288 has a monthly camping program with trips to various state parks and campsites. We make yearly trips to summer camp at Camp Constantin and Winter Camp at Camp Cherokee . We also have made trips to Florida Sea Base, Philmont Scout Ranch , Northern Tier High Adventure Base and plan to make a trip to the new Summit Betchel Reserve this coming summer.
