This year Scouts had the opportunity to volunteer for Carry the Load, a Memorial Day event in Dallas. The event honors soldiers who died in service to our country. Scouts helped place flags to represent the lives of fallen soldiers and were able to learn about specific soldiers. There was a march, flag ceremonies, and more. According to one of the attendees “It was a great project and provided a good opportunity to reflect on how our service men and women, and their families, sacrifice to provide us with the opportunities we often take for granted.” Mark your calendars for next year.
